About Marty Sowers
Marty Sowers, a devoted husband and father, is a community leader dedicated to making Schuylkill County a better place to live, work and raise a family.Marty has deep roots throughout Western and Southern Schuylkill County. Marty has gained a reputation as a tireless advocate for the communities that he represents.
Marty is the Municipal Services Manager for Light-Heigel and Associates where he and his team provide municipal consulting services including Building Code Official, Zoning Officer, Code Enforcement Officer, Floodplain Administrator and Municipal Engineer.
For almost 20 years, Marty has served a majority of communities of the 21-3-04 District Court which includes the townships of Barry, Branch, Cass, Eldred, Foster, Frailey, Hegins, Hubley, Pine Grove, Porter, Reilly, Tremont, Upper Mahantongo, Washington and Wayne. It also includes the boroughs of Pine Grove, Tower City and Tremont.
Marty’s experience as a municipal official has provided him with the keen insight into many of the underlying problems throughout the district. Marty has seen first-hand how blight negatively impacts communities resulting in a reduction in property values and an increase in truancy, crime and drugs.
As District Judge, Marty will bring his local government experience along with his commitment to protecting the safety, security and constitutional rights of every citizen.
Throughout his life, Marty has been active in numerous community organizations including volunteering as a coach for the Williams Valley Midget Football League, and Tower Porter Youth Baseball. He is a member of the Valley View Gun Club and is a trustee for Faith Evangelical Church.
Marty resides in Porter Township with his wife Dione. They are the proud parents of Raegan and Jake. He is a graduate of Williams Valley High School and Mansfield University, B.S. Marty is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys woodworking.
